Check your cruise CV, see your ATS score and find out what job you qualify for from your Android phone, with more ways to pay than our website offers.
The CruiseCareer Pro cruise career app is now on Google Play for Android phones. It puts the free CV Evaluation and Review, the ATS score, role matching and recent cruise ship vacancies in your pocket. It is Android only for now.
I want to explain why I built it, because it is not just about convenience.
Why a cruise career app, and why now
Since launching CruiseCareer Pro I keep hearing the same message. It comes from candidates in India, the Philippines, Indonesia, parts of Africa and other places: “I wanted to buy the CV rewrite, but my card was not accepted.”
Online card payments are not a given everywhere. Some banks block international payments by default. Some people simply do not have a credit card. Our website has a limited set of payment options. For a lot of serious cruise job seekers, that was a wall between them and a CV that a manning agency actually reads.
Google Play works differently. Depending on your country, it supports far more local payment methods than a normal website checkout can. Think mobile wallets, carrier billing and local bank options. Which ones you see depends on your country and your phone, so check the options shown when you buy. Google lists the accepted payment methods on Google Play for each country on its help page. The point is that the barrier is lower for a lot more people.
What you can do in the cruise career app
The free tools stay free, and there is more. Inside the app you can:
- Upload your CV or resume and get the free CV Evaluation and Review, including your ATS score. The ATS score shows how your CV performs against the applicant tracking systems that cruise recruiters and manning agencies use.
- Take the “Am I Ready for Ship Life?” self-assessment before you apply.
- Use CareerMatch role matching ($1.00 per match) to find out which cruise ship positions fit your actual experience.
- Browse recent cruise ship vacancies, taken from real cruise line career sites.
- Read the guides and checklists in the Resources hub.
If you want help beyond the free tools, the app has the same paid products as the website: professional CV, Resume and Cover Letter writing, cruise line specific packages and interview coaching. You can see what each one includes on the pricing page.
How to get the app
Open Google Play on your Android phone and search for CruiseCareer Pro, or use this link: CruiseCareer Pro on Google Play
Then:
- Install the app and open it.
- Upload your CV for the free evaluation. No payment is needed for that part.
- Read your score and the specific fixes.
- If you want the CV rewritten, choose a product and pay through Google Play.
Android phones only for now
Is the cruise career app available on iPhone?
Not at the moment. The app is Android only right now. Everything the app does is also available on the website at cruisecareerpro.com, so iPhone users and computer users lose nothing. If you are on iPhone and would like an iPhone version, tell me in the comments or send me an email. I count every request.
What the app does not change
A good app does not replace good preparation. The basics from my years at sea still apply. Apply through reputable manning agencies. Never pay an agency upfront fees. Do not spend money on STCW courses before you have a confirmed contract. If you want the full process, read my hiring roadmap. If you are choosing a position, my article on cruise ship contract length by position and the one on room and board benefits will help you decide.
If you are ready to apply, the recent job vacancies page shows openings from real cruise line career sites.
